Tip #1 – Build a content “Idea Library” spreadsheet. You’ll add ideas to this library and cross them off as you complete them. The goal is to have a huge inventory of ideas to pull from. Organize your idea library so that each column is a different content type idea such as image, video, story, promotion, etc..
Tip #2 – Understand your audience – what questions do they have? What are their Pain Points?, What do they want?, What do they fear?, What do they love?, What do they hate?, What do they look like?, How do they Identify?, What are they afraid of?, What keeps them up at night?, What are their desires?, What are their frustrations?, What sites are they visiting?, What do they crave above all else? Write down all your ideas! Add them to your content library.
Tip #3 – Look at competitors – how often do they post? Do they use Stories and how? What kind of content? What kind of following and engagement? What hashtags? Who are their followers? Try engaging with their content and maybe they will follow you as well! Even consider engaging with your competitors content, add comments, etc.. others will see that and follow you and it will build good-will with your competition. Write down all your ideas! Add them to your content library.
Tip #4 – Don’t just look at your competitors, also study other brands you like and how they use Instagram so you can develop a strategy that’s unique and modern. Write down all your ideas! Add them to your content library.
Tip #5 – List each holiday in your idea library and what post you’d like to post on that holiday? That alone will be 1-2 post ideas per month or more!
Tip #6 – Once you build a solid base of content ideas, start posting! Come up with a consistent schedule for that and put somebody in charge of it! Make sure to add new ideas real
