Oftentimes, the coldest, freshest, most rewarding water lies the furthest below the surface…and to get this water to the top takes great effort. Sometimes, it can literally take hundreds or even thousands of consistent pumps before the water starts to flow. But, once the water does begin to flow, only a slight steady pressure needs to be applied, and the pump will reward you with more water than you can even use.
The key is to pump as fast and as hard as you can without stopping until the water flows. Because if you start pumping casually, inconsistently, and half-heartedly, you will pump forever, and nothing will happen.
Regardless of what you are doing, if you pump long enough, hard enough, and optimistically enough, sooner or later, the effort will bring forth the reward. Work at it with the right attitude and the right habits, but above all, keep at it with bulldog tenacity and persistence.
Just as the flow of water is often one stroke away, the sweet taste of success and victory is often just over the hill or around the corner. Remember, you have a God-given right as a free person to work as long as you wish, as hard as you wish, and as enthusiastically as you wish to get everything in life you really want.
